UK MPs question present and former Secretaries of State for International Development on UK aid to Rwanda

UK International Development Committee wants to know what happened. MPs will question the present and former Secretaries of State for International Development on UK aid to Rwanda.

On Thursday 8 November and Tuesday 13 November, the International Development Committee will examine the decision by the Department for International Development to withhold, and subsequently disburse, budget support to the Government of Rwanda following allegations about the Rwandan Government’s role in the conflict in eastern DRC, and the decision of other donors who withdrew budget support not to reinstate it.

The first evidence session starts at 9.30am  on Thursday 8 November in Thatcher Room, Portcullis House .

  • The Select Committee will hear Former Secretary of State for International Development Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP.

The second evidence session starts at 9.30am on Tuesday 13 November in Committee Room 5, Palace of Westminster.

  • The Select Committee will hear present Secretary of State for International Development Rt Hon Justine Greening MP.

It look like that when the former Secretarie of State disbursed the budget support to Rwanda, he acted like someone who was expecting commissions out of that aid.
